To take a photo:
1. | On the Logitech Webcam Software home page, click . The Quick Capture pane is displayed, showing the image currently being received by your webcam.

2. | Set the photo/video toggle button to: (Photo).

3. | Check your webcam control settings. To access the Controls panel, click the Controls button at the bottom of the image preview. See Setting webcam controls for details.

Note
· | When you first begin using your webcam, default settings are assigned that are appropriate in most circumstances, so you don’t have to adjust the controls to be able to take a picture. |
· | If you change any of your settings, the Logitech Webcam Software remembers them. Your updated settings are automatically used the next time you take a picture. |
· | For the best photo quality, take photos with bright light sources behind your webcam and out of the picture area whenever possible. |
4. | Click the shutter button on screen, , or press the snapshot button on your webcam.

The photo is then taken. (Depending on your settings, there may be a three second countdown prior to this.) The display then reverts to showing the image currently being received by your webcam. Your photo is added to the Gallery, in the Photo tab. See Gallery for further details about viewing your photo, and other actions you can carry out with your photos such as e-mailing them, editing them and uploading them to Facebook.
The photo file is saved to your hard disk in .jpg format. Depending on your version of Windows, this is saved in your PicturesLWS folder, or your My DocumentsMy PicturesLWS folder. Note
